About Vimala Temple

This temple is located beside the Rohini Kund and right of the main temple of Jagannath Temple within the temple complex. Goddess Vimla is consider as the main deity of this temple.

Along with Goddess Vimala other seven Mother Goddesses Brahmi, Maheswari, Andri, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi and Chamunda worshiped here.

According to temple rituals everything offered to Jagannatha is offered to Vimala Devi first. Every year Durga Puja is celebrated here.

As tradition of the temple everyday the prasad of Lord Jagannath is re-offered to goddess Vimala in a golden plate and then the prasad comes out of the Temple to Ananda Bazar as Mahaprasad for the consumption of the devotees.
